5 Ways to Avoid Scam Diets That Will Save You Hundreds of Dollars by Lance_Radcliff

Before we talk about scam diets let's examine the word diet. The Webster dictionary has several meanings; I think that you will find this interesting:

1) Food and drink regularly provided or consumed.
2) A regiment of eating and drinking sparingly so as to reduce one's weight.

The Greek or diaita meaning: Manner of living or to lead one's life. (This is the right definition)

There you have it; the older mythical definitions are much more in line with how we should be thinking about the word diet.

Scam diets are everywhere you look. The reason that these fad diets suck millions of dollars out of the hands of desperate people is simple, we are thinking of dieting in the wrong way, start thinking like the mythical Greek's and you'll be on your way.

As promised, 5 ways to avoid scam diets once and for all:

Avoiding a scam diet tip #1

If you visit a website and see pictures of Hollywood stars, highly visible fitness models or athletes, click the X at the top right of your monitor and save your money. This is the oldest and most profitable trick in the book, don't fall for it, most of us will look and feel like better versions of ourselves when we reach our goals not like a super model, let's get real folks.

Avoiding a scam diet tip #2

Any diet program that has a primary focus of cutting out a food group such as fat or carbohydrates should be avoided. We are like the caveman genetically speaking, and the caveman ate all of his carbs, fat and protein.

Avoiding a scam diet tip #3

NO supplements that are designed specifically for weight loss, need I say more?

Avoiding a scam diet tip #4

Some of the most popular diets want you to purchase there mass produced food. With these diet programs you're feeding the meter constantly, why???

Everything you need to embark on a way of life diet can be purchased fresh and preferably organic at your local grocery store; there is ABSOLUTELY no reason to buy into one of these diets.

Avoiding a scam diet tip#5

Starvation is a huge mistake; this approach will leave you deprived of energy and brain function in addition to making it harder to lose fat long term.

Not many weight loss companies that I am aware of promote starvation and the reason is simple they want you to buy their products. Unfortunately some people default to this option when they think of dieting.

Don't do it, this approach is very bad for you

Dieting for life change is not as difficult as you might think. It's really all about making subtle shifts in your daily routine. Dieting does not have to be about cutting out the foods you enjoy or eating less. If you follow the right approach you can actually eat more than you do now and burn fat while your watching television, it really is that simple. Again subtle shifts.

I have put together 3 resources that are all outstanding in terms of helping you get started and they are all about subtle shifts and all adhere to the strict criteria that I look for in any program, you can learn more by visiting my review site by clicking here: http://www.squidoo.com/Diet-Reviews-1
